This publication is dedicated to the religious heritage of Nicosia and its suburbs, more specifically the abandoned or converted religious sites in the north and south of the capital of Cyprus, which the faithful had to leave behind, due to the intercommunal strife in the 1950s and 1960s and the tragic partition of the island in 1974. In addition to Christian and Muslim places of worship, the study also includes the cemeteries of the two faith communities, as well as other faith-related places, such as places for votive offerings
