Zusammenfassung
Slovenia has a high energy import dependency of 50%, reaching 100% for petroleum products and gas. Prior to the war in Ukraine, the dependence on Russia for natural gas stood at 80%, while for petroleum products it was approximately 25%. As a result of the war, Slovenia suffered from high energy prices and reduced energy security and reliability. Numerous measures implemented by the government have reduced this dependency. Strategic supply of natural gas has been secured from an African country. In recent months, the government has been focusing primarily on long-term measures in the energy sector to ensure a reduction in its vulnerability to similar risks in the future.
