Since the beginning of 2014, Pakistan acquired the status of GSP Plus, allowing preferential access to the European Union market for a high number of export goods. This study analyzes the current terms of trade trade between Pakistan and the EU, and points out potential trends and perspectives for industrial policy. The author argues that the implementation of core labor standards is crucial for the continuity of GSP Plus and for Pakistan, in order to achieve a more socially inclusive development model.
