Dear Friend:
The United States Government is going to issue Certificatesof Identification to German , Italian and Japanese nationalsnow classified as" alien enemies." This will protect youwhen you go about your daily life. It is goin to be simpleand there is nothing to worry about.
You will read in the papers that you must file applicationsstarting February 9th and ending February 28th at the PostOffices. The papers will give further instructions.
It will be necessary that you bring your alien registrationcard. The Department of Justice realizes that many alienshave not received their cards. If you do not have it, Itherefore advise that you write at once to:
Also state in this letter whether you lost your card ornever received one; your nationality; your present address;where you registered in the United States .at a counsular office, state where.
If you registered
Send this letter registered mail, return receipt requested,and save the carbon copy of your letter.
This will give you
a receipt to show when you apply for your identification certi-ficate if you have not received the alien registration card bythen.
Once more-- DO NOT WORRY about not having the card, becausethe authorities mow that many cards have never been issuedbut you do have to make an effort to apply for it again.
