STUDY Youth, Education and Labour Market in the Nordic Countries Similar But Not the Same JONAS OLOFSSON AND ESKIL WADENSJÖ November 2012  Youth unemployment is a serious problem in all Nordic countries. It is difficult to go from education and training to work.  There are major differences between the education systems in the Nordic countries. Two of them have vocational education mainly in the form of apprenticeship training and the other two mainly as school-based training.  The problems for young people are most severe for those who have not completed secondary school and for foreign born young people.
