1.0 Introduction Electoral Offences In our collective efforts to search for a system of governance that has recognition for and upholds the dignity and universal rights of the governed, the 1992 constitution could be described as the epitome of the will and determination of the Ghanaian populace to be part of decision-making in matters of national concern. Through the ballot box and not the barrel of the gun, participatory democracy is given meaning as Ghana's Electoral Commission(EC), acting upon its mandate, comes in to conduct elections periodically or as and when required to do so. It stands to acknowledge the fact that our universally-acclaimed reputation as a peace-loving nation is very important and so dear to our hearts.
