Chapter 10 -hungry politicians, footsoldiers may have a field day making endless material demands. After all, until the battle is over, the politician may find it difficult to reject their demands and may need to play along. There is, however, a blurred line between what appears to be an inherently contractual relationship and an exploitative one between politicians and political parties on one hand, and footsoldiers on the other. Conclusion Youth involvement in Ghana's political processes is significant because it provides an opportunity to address the phenomenon of political exclusion. It is, however, important that this does not undermine the country's democratic stability, mainly because of the manner in which it is done. The youth must be positively engaged in a much more meaningful manner that demonstrates trust, respect, and prudent use of human resources. Political parties especially, and other democratic stakeholders can help shape the expectations, ideals, and nature of political involvement of the country's youth. In line with the main objective of this book and to help address the issue of election-related violence in Ghana, particularly in view of the upcoming 2012 general elections, the following recommendations have been made; ?
