A N A LY S I S LABOUR AND SOCIAL JUSTICE COVID-19 CRISIS MANAGEMENT AND THE CHANGING SITUATION OF WORKERS IN HUNGARIAN MANUFACTURING Márton Czirfusz December 2021 The primary research question was whether the new investment boom in the Hungarian manufacturing sector, boosted by the government’s Covid-19 crisis management, could increase the room for manoeuvre that workers and trade unions have. The Covid-19 crisis management by the Hungarian government has favoured companies over workers, and social dialogue has become even more limited. Trade unions needed to shape short-term mitigation, medium-term adaptation and long-term transformation measures simultaneously.
