He will likely leave its transatlantic networking to others. That creates openings for European – in particular, Hungarian – actors. • Trump’s programme can be interpreted as»Orbánisation«: the imposition of an illiberal, hyper-majoritarian form of democracy. • The strength of the global radical right should not be overstated. But their movement does profit from a hardening of the political culture. The defenders of liberal democracy need to take that into account.
