POLICY BRIEF DEMOCRACY AND HUMAN RIGHTS COUNTRY REPORT: CYPRUS Annagrace Messa, Asylum/Migration Civil Society Consultant December 2024 This report presents an over­view of the migratory shifts and trends with a focus on Cyprus, situated at the cross­roads of Europe, Africa, and the Middle East(MENA), has a broad migratory demographic tapestry. Having practically nonexistent integration policy for years, there seems to be a clear lack of interest in developing resil­ience scripts, promoted in an EU-level that are based on in­clusion and integration. An updated holistic approach to migration is greatly needed to not only provide for legal migratory pathways but also ensure ensure the safety, pro­tection, and human rights of those in need.
