ABA, AKW, ARAB, BDIC(1956), FES(microfilm), FF(1956), GOPB(1956), IISG, SHC, SSA, TAM, TK In January 1993, the European Forum for Democracy and Solidarity was founded on the initiative of the Western European Social Democratic parties to support the transformation and democratisation processes in Central and Eastern Europe, and as a platform for co­operation with social democratic personalities and parties in the region. The Forum co­operates closely with the Socialist International, the Party of European Socialists and other social democratic Internationals, and is a part of the international social democratic network. The Forum publishes Country Updates on the countries in the region with background material difficult to obtain, a Newsletter/Calendar(no. 26/December 2000) and Annual Reports. The Forum intends to develop its coverage to include the countries of the Confederation of Independent States(http://www.europeanforum.bot-consult.se) International Council of Social Democratic Women/Socialist International Women ­Femmes d'Internationale Socialiste; Internacional Socialiste Mujeres; Sozialistische Fraueninternationale After the Second World War and the downfall of the fascist regimes, the social democratic women re­established their international co-operation and held their first conference in Vienna 1948. But this co­operation did not receive sufficient support from the Socialist International, and the International Socialist Women's Conference in London 1955 accordingly founded the International Council of Social Democratic Women.
