Sharing the Experience of Twelve Activists in the Women Workers Movement: an analysis of interviews with KWWA activists By SHIN Gyeong-a, Professor, Hallym University 1. Research Topic I interviewed twelve female activists in the KKWA to discover what their lives as activists are like, and what they think about the changes in Korean society, and the prospects for the women workers movement. The following were the main focus of the interviews: To share their experiences, concerns, and ideas What are their successes and failures of the women workers movement and what made them happen How they have dealt with current issues and what remains to be resolved What have been their personal experiences and how have these affected their activities in the women workers movement To examine what the women workers movement needs to do going ahead 2. The Interviews I interviewed twelve female activists who have worked in KWWA headquarters or branches for over ten years. Interviewees: Regions Ages Positions Busan, Masan-Changwon, Daegu, Incheon, Seoul, Ansan, headquarters 4 persons in their 30s, 4 in their 40s, 4 in their 50s Five chairpersons of region Women Workers Associations
