Why the WTO and UNFCCC should work together more closely in the area of agriculture • In the area of agriculture, the World Trade Organization (WTO) has been hampered by conflicting visions and only seen sluggish progress in negoti­ations. Developing countries have especially been frustrated by the dearth of progress on the issues of food security, access to markets and technical assistance. • The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has made agriculture a priority area in its Koronivia decision.
