Sarajevo ANALYSIS Towards new Foreign Policy Strategy of Bosnia and Herzegovina 2018-2023 November 2018 March 13, 2018, BiH Presidency adopted the Foreign Policy Strategy of Bosnia and Herzegovina 2018-2023. This analysis will endeavour to provide an overview of the document, bring it to the attention of the public and thereby provoke a broader discudevelopments in international relations. Under new Strategy, BiH is expected tofollow actively the European Unions Common Foreign and Security Policy. In order to achieve this strategic objective, BiH Presilobby and promote BiH as a future Member State. The Strategy should establish clear correlations between available resources and types of measures on the one hand and the goals it is created to achieve on the other. Likewise, the drafters need to be aware of the Strategys limitations and bear in mind its potential impact and the related response of other international players. Therefore, one must critically assess potential breaking points in international relations as seen in the context of BiH internal political climate and the countrys required involvement two-year term as a non-permanent UNSC Member. The Strategy requires further assessments of BiH obligations in each of the strategic areas of its relations with the EU, NATO and WTO, and of the activities pertaining to the UN 2030 Agenda. The assessments are best prepared by competent BiH institutitransitional period.
