Abstract
- The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES), conducted research in collaboration with The Mixed Migration Centre (MMC). This research delves into the complex economic realities faced by migrants in Libya, providing comprehensive insights on: The economic significance of Libya for migrants during their migration journey. The economic and financial conditions of migrants in Libya. The opportunities and risks that migrants encounter in the Libyan labor market. The findings are grounded in 317 quantitative interviews conducted in 2023 with migrants who had resided in Libya for at least three months. The quantitative data was meticulously gathered through 4Mi, MMC’s flagship data collection system. This data was further contextualized by qualitative interviews with key informants and an extensive review of relevant literature
