Abstract
- The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted women's empowerment globally, and Bangladesh was no exception. This paper delves into the pandemic's impact on tertiary-educated women in white-collar careers, highlighting how it amplified gender inequalities while paradoxically accelerating the adoption of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). Drawing on ethnographic research with five married women in diverse professions, the study reveals that while earning opportunities through work-from-home (WFH) arrangements have grown, fundamental empowermentmarked by decision-making autonomy and freedom of movementremains elusive.
