Abstract
This paper explores how the COVID-19 pandemic reshaped gender equality in South Korea's labour market. The study highlights the pandemic's toll on female workforce participation, the precarious conditions of essential workers like hospital cleaners and care workers, and the urgent need for gender focused policy reforms. Based on the findings, the paper proposes policy approaches for a gender just transformation.
