Publication: Study / PEACE AND SECURITY Libya’s descent into chaos is staggering, yet there remains hope for redemption. Stabilizing the country and facilitating a credible political process requires the determined engagement of international and regional actors. This policy paper outlines the fears that led to the failure of the December 2021 elections, assesses UN initiatives in response, and proposes scenarios for moving the political process forward, along with recommendations for achieving them.
