Abstract
Country-wide representative surveys in six countries of sub-Saharan Africa offers previously unavailable comparative and detailed data on informal labour’s expectation of and trust in states’ ability to provide public goods and on how informal labour organize to pursue common coals. The project focuses on health care and social security and on organizing in the informal economy. The surveys cover Benin, Ethiopia, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Senegal and Zambia during the period Oct. 2018 and April 2022. For Ethiopia, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya and Senegal, the surveys cover as well a variety of responses of the informal economy to the pandemic.
