  • The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) is reshaping industries worldwide, presenting both opportunities and challenges for Bangladesh�s SMEs. An eye-opening study by SME Foundation and FES Bangladesh explores how 4IR can transform the SME sector, highlights key challenges and opportunities, including the need for training, proper infrastructure, ICT support, finance, and capacity building etc. The study, based on secondary data and interviews with SME owners and government officials, reveals that while SMEs are optimistic about 4IR�s potential�like improved product quality and new job opportunities�there are significant challenges. These include a lack of technical knowledge, inadequate infrastructure, and limited training. The findings emphasize the need for further research, policy changes, and capacity building to help SMEs prosper in the 4IR era. Recommendations include fostering collaboration, improving ICT infrastructure, and providing targeted training.
