Abstract
- FES Bangladesh and other 19 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) have prepared this position paper before COP29 (which is scheduled in Baku, Azerbaijan on 11-22 November 2024) to outline Bangladesh�s priorities in advancing the global goal on adaptation, while calling for international support to bridge data and capacity gaps, ensuring inclusive and effective adaption tracking. The CSOs have set prospective prime agendas of COP29 that includes global stocktake results, scaling up climate finance, strengthening adaption measures, loss and damage, phasing out fossil fuels and just transition. This position paper highlights the key negotiation priorities for COP29 in the areas of adaptation, mitigation, climate finance, loss and damage, water justice, gender-climate impact to the gender health, youth engagement in climate action and just energy transition.
