Zusammenfassung
- This publication sheds light on the challenging conditions faced by personal care and non-clinical healthcare workers in Bangladesh. Despite being part of the formal economy, these workers are often subjected to informal labour practices, leading to exploitation and a lack of basic rights and protections. With poor wages, excessive working hours, and inadequate access to social protections, many workers struggle with job insecurity and workplace harassment. The research calls for urgent legal reforms, improved occupational safety, and better welfare measures to ensure that these workers receive their rightful entitlements and protections. From enforcing employment contracts to introducing health and pension schemes, the study offers actionable recommendations to uplift the conditions of this vulnerable workforce.
