Abstract
Algeria is positioning hydrogen at the forefront of its energy strategy. Blue hydrogen acts as a bridge to export markets, while green hydrogen is explored through pilot projects, using abundant gas reserves and existing infrastructure. The $24.8 billion strategy relies on global partnerships, falling electrolyzer costs, and decades of hydrocarbon expertise to develop a new energy sector. Beyond exports, hydrogen offers opportunities for domestic industry, job creation, and integration with renewables, supporting economic diversification and advancing Algeria’s long-term energy transition.
