  • China is pursuing an ambitious, comprehensive space strategy characterized by technological advancement, commercial exploitation, and geopolitical influence. The increased involvement of the Global South is expanding its geopolitical network. For Germany and Europe, China is thus increasingly becoming an industrial competitor in space. Security concerns are also growing. At the same time, however, there is potential for enhanced cooperation in space exploration and its commercial use. This study provides a well-founded analysis of China’s ambitions, achievements, and plans in space and examines the implications for Germany and Europe.
