Since the independence of the Jordanian state in 1946 political parties were essential players in politics in Jordan. Over the past 65 years the landscape of political parties of Jordan has clearly changed and developed. Jordan has also adopted different legislations to catch up with other democratic states in the region and the world and ensure the development of the Jordanian state. Therefore, Jordan has introduced new laws enabling political parties to receive state�s funds. This policy paper highlights all issues related to financing political parties by the state and gives important recommendations for the baselines and mechanisms of fair financing of political parties.
