Zusammenfassung
Expectations of social democracy in Europe - a survey in Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Spain and Sweden analyses what the left-progressive spectrum in Europe thinks. There is a desire for more social justice: Despite very different histories, cultures and current politics, there is a common core in favor of a left-progressive social democracy in Europe. While nationalism and segregation are currently seen as increasingly normal in the public sphere, this group of people has a need for more social justice and sees the European Union as an important player in overcoming the challenge of growing inequality. This group of voters believes that the EU should not be limited to freedom of movement, free trade and democracy, but should take on a more socially equalizing role.
