Over the past century, interethnic relations between Albanians and Serbs have been defined by nationalistic that have proven to be unhelpful and unsupportive of resolution of tensions. Since the beginning of the 20th century, authentic social democratic positions have remained on the political and social margins primarily due to permanent power-related struggles in realpolitikal, rudimentary conditions of social and political mainstream activity. Nationalist ideologies have proven time and again to promote conflict and divisions for their own purposes
