February 2022 Slovakia was fully dependent on Russian energy imports. Slovakia was almost 100% dependent on Russian imports of natural gas, oil, and nuclear fuel. The country also imported Russian coal, accounting for around one third of solid fuels imports. After the invasion Slovakia began to diversify its natural gas suppliers. The report describes the short, medium and long term efforts to decrease Slovakia’s dependence on Russian energy imports.
