Abstract
Since the late 1990s, Spain became a country of immigration rather than emigration. With intense migration flows from a variety of origins, a capacity to attract labour based mainly on the construction and service sectors and a vague integration model, Spain can be viewed as an unique case in terms of its immigration management system. This report provides an overview of immigration and asylum management systems and policies, as well as integration and inclusion actions in Spain over the last two decades with the aim of identifying key issues that may be of interest to an international audience.
