We have to understand the climate issue for what it is: a social issue. The current debate is not about whether we need a more serious climate policy after the corona recession, but about how we can shape this and how we can ensure that the fight against climate change is supported by a large majority of the population. The European trade unions have therefore been campaigning for a socio-ecological restructuring of the economy for many years. What should this restructuring actually look like? What policies, what new instruments does it require? And what specific measures need to be taken to implement this vision? These and other questions are discussed from a union perspective in this publication.
