Abstract
Social challenges in Iraq are deepening due to many years of external and internal wars, political and economic instability and the decline in oil prices. No major structural reforms have been made over the past two decades, as well as widespread corruption in state institutions and the dependence of their administration on the principle of political sectarianism in between influential parties. This paper seeks to uncover the most prominent social challenges that beset Iraq in the current stage, and to diagnose its patterns. In addition to extrapolating the effects and repercussions generated from these challenges to be analyzed, as well as exploring means of confrontation according to proposals and recommendations of a policy nature.
