  • The study report „From landing to arrival: The subtle integration of immigrants across Western Europe” analyses the process of subjective integration of immigrants in 13 countries of Western Europe based on the data of the European Social Survey (ESS). The host countries examined in the report are Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Germany, France, Spain, United Kingdom, Netherlands and Portugal. The study is answering the following questions: How satisfied are immigrants with institutions in their host country and how much do they trust them? Do their attitudes and values really differ from the host societies’ attitudes and values or are the differences negligible? Do they feel included or excluded in their new home, how attached
    do they feel to the host country and do these feelings and perceptions depend on their origin, on the host country’s environment or their time of arrival? Do emigrants’ attitudes and values differ from the ones of their compatriots who stayed in their country of origin? The study is the third in a row after „Looking behind the culture of fear - Cross-national analysis of attitudes towards migration” and „Still divided but more open – Mapping European attitudes towards migration before and after the migration crisis”.
