Abstract
The EU lacks sound strategic and coherent approaches to support and protect democracy in sub-Saharan Africa. The EU’s overall cooperation with African partners needs to become more political. The study recommends concrete actions for a reform of the EU’s democracy support in sub-Saharan Africa.
