Air pollution is a challenge at the European, as well as at the regional level in the Western Balkans. Annual reports of environment protec¬tion agencies of Serbia and Kosovo show alarming levels of air pollution, particularly in urban areas. The EU integration process of both sides is a good opportu¬nity for improving air quality, public health and citizens� quality of life through imple¬mentation of the EU acquis.
