Abstract
Since the emergence of capitalism, the care work performed by women has been a pillar that holds the world economy up. Yet, until this day, care work is still unnoticed, unrecognized, unvalued or at best, undervalued. This paper explores, from a feminist perspective, the origins of the distribution of care work globally, highlights the current main challenges facing the MENA regions care economy and offers recommendations for improving the status quo.
