Gender inequality is widespread in both parts of Cyprus on all levels of society. Changes in the educational system seem to be the best option to close the gap between the genders in Cyprus. Therefore the educational system should aim for incorporating and implementing gender equality on all levels of the school systems and throughout the curricula also in order to strengthen society for a reunified Cyprus in the future. The authors of this report will elaborate on the findings of a research conducted on the perspectives of teachers on gender equality in the north of Cyprus. The findings on gender equality in schools will be presented in this publication in order to increase awareness of educators and trade unionists �an issue on the periphery of the public discourse.
