With the adoption of the new anti-corruption law in early 2018 and the establishment of the Commission for Counteracting Corruption and for Seizure of Illegally Acquired Property (KPKONPI), not only was a new legal and institutional framework created but it also brought about also high public expectations for progress in coping with this socially significant phenomenon. The analysis assesses to what extent the new legislation and the first anti-corruption action of the Anti-Corruption Commission create prerequisites and attitudes to more effectively counteract corruption.
