In 2017, Israel marked the 50th anniversary of the Six Day War. In contrast to past decades, the peace process however seems deadlocked and no solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is in sight. Nonetheless, the EU sees itself as a fair and relevant mediator between the two parties to the conflict, even though the effectiveness of these efforts is questioned both in Europe and in Israel. Main objective of the meeting was to present and discuss the obstacles to Peace fifty years after the Six-Day War (1967) and the role of the EU and the international community in removing these obstacles and preserving the prospects for Peace. The IEPN meeting took place in June in Israel.
