Zusammenfassung
Jamaica, like other Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the Caribbean, is pursuing its development objectives in a climate-constrained environment. Jamaica faces the challenges of unsustainable high debt, high levels of poverty and unemployment,
little or no economic growth, weak governance and high levels of crime, among others.
To successfully address these challenges in the face of climate change impacts, SIDS, like Jamaica, require sustained and targeted adaptation and mitigation policies. Measures are also needed to ensure social protection and disaster-risk management.
