As contribution to the current debate on a post-2015 development agenda and its consolidation with the UN sustainability agenda, the Civil Society Reflection Group on Global Development Perspectives proposes a political framework for global sustainability goals. This framework is composed of the following parameters: an integrated system of Universal Sustainability Goals; a political declaration emphasizing core principles and values as the normative foundation of the agenda; a program for structural transformation of our current mode of economy, which is overstraining natural resources and global environmental systems; and finally, a universal periodic review on sustainability based on the model of the UPR-mechanism of the UN Human Rights Council in order to monitor and evaluate progress and obstacles in achieving these goals.
