The dynamics of global value chains, the growing “servitization” of production, the organization of economic activities in networks and the concomitant increase of “atypical” forms of employment have all become issues of debate. This analysis describes, from a management and organization theory perspective, how these developments are inter-linked and which challenges they pose for industrial relations and trade union strategies.
