Abstract
Currently a single party (the right-wing and populist Law and Justice) is governing in Poland and moreover there is no political party with a left-wing label represented in the Polish parliament. Therefore it is a great challenge for social democracy to strengthen its position and regain influence on the political and social development in Poland. This study analyses the situation of two left-wing political parties: The Social Democratic Left Alliance and Razem (Together Party). It describes their brief history, position on the political scene, their value system and main problems that they are facing. In conclusion the author of the study considers the chances and prospect of these parties for the future.
