Zusammenfassung
The Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP) Plus agreement between the European Union and Pakistan, allowing preferential access of Pakistani export goods to EU markets for ten years, has been in place since January 2014. The agreement has opened favourable opportunities for growth of Pakistani export sectors and for better managing Pakistan's internal economic challenges. The preferential facility stipulates the effective implementation of 27 international human rights, including labour and environmental conventions to retain the benefits of GSP Plus. Pakistan Workers Confederation (PWC) decided to actively participate in the monitoring and implementation of the GSP Plus process and to put forward its suggestions for improving the compliance of labour standards. The report also discusses the way forward and addresses the different stakeholders involved in policy making.
