Zusammenfassung
In the Ukrainian crisis, Germany took a coordinating role in the EUs efforts to stabilize the situation. This very active role came after a long development of Germanys foreign policy since the end of the Second World War. Most of the time, Germany was reluctant about its commitment to resolving foreign conflicts. This caused growing criticism by Germanys partners, who wanted the economically mighty Germany to take a fair share in conflict resolution. After Germanys involvement in the Minsk process and in helping to organize sanctions against Russia, what is the view of Germanys partners on the German foreign policy? Are Germanys motivations understood? Is this involvement accepted as a fair share or are there concerns about a dominating role Germany might play? We took the perspective of Germanys partners and described their view in a set of brief papers. You can find the views of Poland, the Baltic States, Ukraine, Romania, Georgia, Russia, the EU, the United States, France, Italy, Finland and Sweden in the following publication The Gaze of the Other.
