Zusammenfassung
Previously it was assumed that Viktor Orbán is the guarantee against the Hungarian far right. Péter Krekó, Director of the Political Capital Institute in Budapest, argues in his paper that this is not the case anymore indeed he mentions that 1) Fidesz has become more radical than the far-right Jobbik party on numerous issues, 2) Fidesz is more of a threat to democracy and the integrity of the EU these days than Jobbik, therefore 2018 might be the last chance to defeat Orbán and 3) the Hungarian left is mathematically unable to defeat Fidesz alone, which means Jobbiks votes and mandates are needed to deny the majority of seats in the National Assembly from Fidesz.
