Exercising one�s right to information is the oxygen for democracy. It is fundamental to the realisation of economic, social and political rights and in facilitating people�s ability to make informed decisions about their lives. Our hope is that this Manual will help civil society to incorporate access to information in their everyday work and to engage with governments and the media in the common interest of development and prosperity for Africa.
