The first paper in the FES Nepal series Prospects for Social Justice and Sustainable Development discusses Nepal�s economic prospects against the backdrop of the changing geopolitical dynamics in Asia during the Covid-19 pandemic. It assesses Nepal�s accomplishments regarding the Sustainable Development Goals and identifies potential winners and losers of the economic status quo and potential progressive change. The author calls for strengthening the state�s role in actively reducing social and economic inequalities.
