The research in on the state of informal economy in Zimbabwe highlighting high levels of informality in Zimbabwe. It also looks at the international best practices in terms of provision of social protection, how social protection and social security is a human right which should be provided to all. It also looks at the state of social protection in Zimbabwe highlighting the gaps that exist in social protection in Zimbabwe especially workers in the informal economy and also domestic workers are not covered by national legislation. The paper also discusses the challenges that exist and faced by the workers in the informal economy.
