  • The paper outlines the state of social dialogue in Zimbabwe from 1980 highlighting the changes that have happened in dialogue at the national level also how issues related to how dialogue in Zimbabwe has been more top down and less inclusive in trying to drive the responses and the changes that are needed in terms of the crisis that Zimbabwe has gone through. It also looks at how the Tripartite Negotiating Forum (TNF) was formed and how other dialogue processes where put in place running parallel with the TNF. Is also points out the importance of the TNF and how it developed protocols that were set to better Zimbabwe including the founding principles of the TNF which were set to address the crisis that loomed in Zimbabwe at the time.

    The Paper also highlights the importance of dialogue has been used in other countries as a toll to address challenges and how it has worked. The paper also put recommendations towards the establishment of an effective social dialogue system in Zimbabwe looking at issues of how to make a secretariat for the TNF and how can be better used a tool towards development for the nation.
