This study shows how trends of demographic aging will force labor policies for social and health care services to change. The current trend is clear: less and less carers, both professional or informal, will care for more and more people in need. This means that, unless nation-states make the right decisions to increase capacity in time, services will become unsustainable not only financially. The study outlines European trends and then, based on the results of a quantitative and qualitative research, it covers in depth the working conditions of those working in the elderly care in Hungary.
